Eisenhower Goes 6-0, Claims Program Cup and a Jump in the Division 1 Poll!

The prep volleyball season is heating up, and our Utica Eisenhower squad made the loudest statement of Week 4: a perfect 6-0 run to win its Program Cup. Along the way the then-No. 7 Eagles handled then-ranked No. 6 South Lyon East in three (25-23, 22-25, 15-11), plus wins over Dexter, Troy, South Lyon, Macomb Dakota and honorable mention Lowell. The reward? A move up to No. 6. They weren't the only ones climbing. Macomb Lutheran North jumped from honorable mention all the way to No. 8 in Division 2 by outlasting previously fifth-ranked North Branch in a five-set marathon (22-25, 26-28, 25-23, 25-19, 15-12) — the kind of night that earns a ranking. Up top, top-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy handled No. 2 Bloomfield Hills Marian in straight sets (25-21, 27-25, 25-21), the second meeting between the two in as many weeks. And in the U.P., Ishpeming and Negaunee went five for the second-straight season, with Ishpeming surviving 15-12.
