Grandville's Livermore Torches Spartan Invitational Elite Field, Headed to GVSU!

Our high school cross country runners keep giving us reasons to brag, and this week it's Grandville senior Caden Livermore leading the way. Livermore blew away the Elite race at Saturday's Spartan Invitational at Michigan State, crossing in 15:19.4 — a full 12.2 seconds clear of the field. This is a kid who finished third at last year's Lower Peninsula Division 1 Final, and his top time of 15:03.1 this season ranks fourth on the state's all-divisions list. Down in Caro, the story is a two-for-one. The Tigers swept the individual titles at the Mike Jackson Invitational at Croswell-Lexington, with senior Luke Herron winning by 55 seconds and his classmate and friend Violet Tetil taking hers by 41. Tetil already owns the Caro school record at 18:50.5, run at Ubly back in October of 2025, plus track records in the 3,200, 1,600, 800 and 400. Both Herron and Tetil are eyeing a top-five finish at the Division 3 Finals on Nov. 7 at Michigan International Speedway. Livermore, meanwhile, is headed to Grand Valley State to run and study kinesiology and business. The future is bright.
