Week 8 is in the books across our High School grids, and few teams in the state are stacking numbers like Ithaca. The 35-0 whitewash of Fowler pushes the Yellowjackets to a perfect 8-0, and the season-long math tells the whole story: they have outscored opponents by a combined 412-26. That is not a hot streak. That is a wall. The undefeated club has company too. Sanford Meridian ran to 8-0 and grabbed the Jack Pine Conference overall crown, earning a shot at a perfect regular season for the first time since 2015. Grand Blanc edged Davison 28-21 to lock up a third-straight Saginaw Valley League South title, and Burton Bendle, now 8-0, buried Flint Elite 39-0 to avenge last season's 34-8 loss. And don't sleep on the headliners: Detroit Cass Tech survived Detroit Martin Luther King 21-20, with Donald Tabron and Peyton Robinson linking up for a pair of scores, while Saline closed out the Southeastern Conference Red at 8-0. The playoff picture is coming into focus.
