Stapleton Rewrites Frankenmuth's Record Book as Eagles Chase History

Every so often a kid comes along who turns the record book into his own diary, and for our Frankenmuth Eagles that kid is Carter Stapleton. On Aug. 24, during a 5-0 win against Saginaw Valley Lutheran, he supplanted both school marks — 90 career goals passing Kendall Morris from 2023, and 134 career points passing Matt Hinds from 2013. The climb has been a steady one. Eighteen goals and a District Final as a freshman, then 22 as a sophomore, then 30 as a junior with a Regional Final that slipped away in overtime to Lansing Catholic. Twelve games into his senior year he already has 20 goals and five assists, and the No. 11 ranked Eagles sit at 8-4 with all four losses bunched into one rough stretch while he was out injured during their own Bavarian Cup. So here is the stakes: Frankenmuth has reached the Division 3 Semifinals only once, back in 2003. With Stapleton and nine other seniors leading the way, this group has one more run to make that history happen.
