A Brutal Week 2 as QBs Go Down Across the League

Week 2 of the NFL turned into a rough night for quarterbacks, and there's no way to dress it up. Washington's Jayden Daniels had his right guard step on his foot after the snap, and Daniels fell backwards off balance and dislocated his elbow landing on the ground. Quiet, ugly, the kind of thing that makes a whole stadium hold its breath. It didn't stop there. The Bears quarterback was scrambling toward the end zone when he fell untouched, wincing in pain, and got carted back to the locker room with a hamstring injury. Over in New York, Jaxson Dart got sandwiched between two rushers — a hyperextended knee and an MCL sprain, with more exams coming Tuesday. History tells us the backup story isn't always the end of the story. Tom Brady capitalized on a backup-to-starter injury scenario, and Kurt Warner came in for the then-St. Louis Rams. Both of those men led their teams to Super Bowl titles. So the next man up gets his shot, and we've seen where that road can lead. Get well soon to all of them. Feel free to keep tabs on these guys as the recovery news comes in. — Patrick, MI Sports Chat.
