Thursday marked the final practice of training camp at the Meijer Performance Center, and just like that our Lions are done with the grind in Allen Park and pointed at what matters. Dan Campbell rolled through this camp his own way — no joint practices in 2026 — leaning on the group that won us back-to-back NFC North titles in 2023 and 2024. Now the calendar gets real: Friday is a walkthrough and travel day, Saturday brings the preseason finale in Indianapolis, and Sunday is when the hard part hits — trimming from 90 down to an initial 53. Tuesday the Lions can build their 16-man practice squad. One name to watch: Isiah Pacheco, signed to be Jahmyr Gibbs's primary backup, missed most of camp with a sprained MCL and is dealing with a back injury too. With David Montgomery now in Houston, Sione Vaki has taken plenty of first-team reps. That backfield picture matters. Then it's Week 1 on Sept. 13, us hosting the New Orleans Saints at Ford Field.
