First Pitch of October Belongs to Phillies-Braves — and the A's Are Suing the Tigers

So the 2026 Postseason is finally here, and while none of our Michigan clubs are on the bracket this October, we've got a bone to pick with the folks in green: A's outfielder Gelof is suing our Tigers over damages he says were caused by a metal fence. We'll be keeping a close eye on where that one lands. Out on the field, the Phillies headed to Atlanta for a Game 1 clash with the NL East rival Braves, and Alec Bohm grabbed the first run of the entire postseason before Mike Yastrzemski answered right back with an RBI single. The showcase moment came from Chris Sale, who fanned Bryce Harper on a 100 MPH heater — postseason baseball at full volume. The Wild Card slate is stacked from there: White Sox and Astros at 5 p.m. ET behind Hagen Smith and AJ Blubaugh, then the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry at 8, and Cubs-Padres to close the night at 10 with Matthew Boyd taking the ball.
