Lions Close the Preseason With a 25-16 Win Over the Colts!

We wrapped up the exhibition slate on the road Saturday, and our Lions handled the Colts 25-16 at Lucas Oil Stadium in the preseason finale. It was tied 6-6 after the first quarter — Indianapolis pieced together a couple of early field goals — before Detroit found its footing and pulled away in Indianapolis. The signature drive of the night belonged to Trayveon Williams, who capped a 10-play, 75-yard march with a one-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. Jake Bates pushed the ensuing extra point wide right, but the message was already sent: this offense can grind out a long, patient drive when it needs one. Now the hard part. Dan Campbell said there are still a handful of starting spots up for grabs, and he's bracing for some tough decisions at several positions as the roster gets trimmed to an initial 53 by Sunday's 6 p.m. deadline. Somebody's going to clear out their locker, and that's the cruel math of late August.
