It's getting hard to watch, folks. The Rays came into Comerica Park and handed our Tigers a 4-1 loss, and that's now six straight defeats and nine losses in our last 10. Framber Valdez took the ball and gave up four runs — three earned — on eight hits over six innings, walking two without a single strikeout, and the offense just couldn't answer. Drew Rasmussen (14-5) held us to one run to win his seventh straight start, the second-longest streak in Rays franchise history behind Blake Snell's nine in 2018. Kevin McGonigle doubled and scored on Brett Callahan's sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 in the fourth, but Jonathan Aranda's sixth-inning homer put it away. Bryan Baker slammed the door in the ninth for his 38th save. The damage runs deeper than one night: we've fallen behind in the race for the final AL wild card, sitting 61-70 and seven back in the Central. Game 2 comes Tuesday night, our Jackson Jobe against Ian Seymour, and we need to stop the bleeding.
