Tigers Walk It Off, Down the Mighty Dodgers 2-1 at Comerica!

What a night at Comerica Park, where our battling Tigers found a way past the National League's best and beat the Dodgers 2-1 in front of 40,022. Kevin McGonigle's deep fly to left-center bounced into the Dodgers bullpen with the winning run already ninety feet away, ruled a single that ended it — and the whole park erupted. The setup was pure October theater. Javier Baez led off the ninth with a double, took third on Max Clark's sacrifice bunt, and then Jack Dreyer loaded the bases before McGonigle did the rest. And this was after Baez sprinted over from left to run down Teoscar Hernandez's drive to the deepest part of the yard for the final out of the top of the ninth. The man was everywhere. Blake Snell was nasty, one run and 10 punchouts in five, but our guys hung tough as Keider Montero matched him. The series is knotted 1-1 and we get the rubber match Sunday afternoon, Framber Valdez (8-9, 4.35) on the mound for Detroit.
