Well, it was a tale of two halves down in South Bend, and the second one belonged to No. 3 Notre Dame as they handed the Spartans a 27-10 loss on NBC Saturday night. MSU got off to a scrappy start — Cam Fancher scrambled in from 15 yards and the Spartans clawed within 17-10 by the half, and for a while it felt like a fight. Then the offense went quiet. Michigan State managed just 40 yards over the final two quarters, one lonely play in Irish territory, and a 9-yard sack that shoved MSU back into our own end. Notre Dame's defense was relentless: four sacks, six tackles for loss, and two picks from Luke Talich and Adon Shuler. Cam Edwards, our leading rusher, was bottled up to 38 yards on 12 carries. CJ Carr threw for 234 and ran one in, Nolan James Jr. rolled up 121 on the ground, and Marcus Freeman notched his 13th straight double-digit win — a mark that now tops Knute Rockne himself. The Spartans drop to 2-1 and host Nebraska next Saturday, and there's plenty of season left to right this ship.
