Michigan Wolverines

This page will provide direct attention to the athletics at the University of Michigan!  We will try to provide insight on the teams in season with recaps and updates on the current games.  We also will look ahead to some upcoming games.  Occasionally we will do some articles that will highlight some of the athletes!

Danny Wolf selected 27th in NBA Draft by the Brooklyn Nets

The NBA Draft was this past Wednesday and Thursday nights and Michigan grad Danny Wolf was selected 27th by the Brooklyn Nets in the 1st round!  Wolf will be heading to Brooklyn and begin in a few weeks playing in the NBA Summer League in Vegas for the Nets!  Vlad Goldin was also up to be drafted but was not taken and signed a 2 way contract with the Miami Heat!  Since 2011 UM has 17 total Draft selections in the first and second round (11 first: 6 second).  The Wolverines presently have 10 former players playing in the NBA!

Syla Swords selected to the Canada
Americup team

The Michigan Wolverines Syla Swords was selected to the Americup Canada team for this summer and will accompany the team to Santiago, Chile!  The Americup will take place June 28-July 6 and this is the second time she will be representing the team.  She played with them on the U17 and U19 teams.  She also represented Team Canada at the Olympics in 2024 in Paris!  She was the youngest player in Paris!

Sutherland sets record in 400 Hurdles!

Savannah Sutherland concluded her Michigan Track and Field career in record breaking fashion as she ran the 400 Meter Hurdles in record breaking time 52.46 seconds!
