Wolverines overcome 5 turnovers to get late game FG
and beat Northwestern at Wrigley!

In what a lot of people will agree to the Michigan Wolverines played one of their worst games in a long time last Saturday inside the historic Wrigley Field home to the MLB Chicago Cubs!  Michigan gave the football away 5 times and yet pulled out a victory 24-22 in front of a Wildcat stunned fan base!

Somehow the Wolverines grasped victory from the mouth of probable defeat! Freshmen QB Bryce Underwood wasn't at his best and his teammates weren't much better for the day.    Still looking back today there is no way the Wolveines deserved to win that game!  In the end Michigan held them enough defensively to get the ball last and have a chip shot FG chance to win the game!Statistically, Michigan looked as if the game should have been a blowout victory but with the 5 turnovers the home team Wildcats still had hope until the end!

A road trip to Maryland is on tap this Saturday with a kickoff planned for 4pm on the BTN. If the Wolverines can focus for 4 qtrs. and take care of the ball and play solid defense to get out of their with a victory it will set up the annual Ohio St/Michigan "THE GAME" for the Saturday after Thanksgiving!

Michigan hoops slips in rankings after two close
victories over Wake Forest and TCU

The early season schedule is supposed to prep you for your league play and that is exactly what the Men's Basketball team is dealing with.  An OT victory over Wake Forest at Little Caesars Arena and a very tough road game vs TCU have gotten the attention of Dusty May and his team!

Needless to say learning lessons are always good but Michigan did themselves no favors in both games.  With a hand full of new players to this team they are being thrown to the dogs early on.  A lot of talent no doubt but gelling and learning to play with one another is also a priority.

The next real challenge will be the Players Era Championship in Las Vegas next Mon-Thurs. with the likes of San Diego St. and Auburn on the schedule.

Monday Nov. 24 UM will play the San Diego St. squad on TruTV at 7:30pm.  Tuesday night Nov. 25 they will play Auburn at 7:30pm in Vegas on TNT!  A great Thanksgiving week in Las Vegas should tell a lot about this squad.
