NFC North Standings (as of Dec. 28, 2025)

Chicago Bears 11- 4

Green Bay Packers  9 - 6 -1

Minnesota Vikings  8 - 8

Detroit Lion's  8 - 8

Lion's officially eliminated from
Post Season Playoffs

Christmas Day didn't deliver the gift that the Detroit Lion's were looking for as the Minnesota Vikings and their 3rd string QB ended all hopes for a Playoff berth!  The chances were very slim heading into that game and in the end the 4th loss in 5 games for Detroit proved to be too much!

After such a promising start to the 25-26 season where the Lion's started 4-1 they are limping to the finish line at 8-8 with one game left in Chicago next weekend!   With the results Saturday the impossible back in August came to fruition for the Chicago Bears as they clinched the NFC North Title!

Injuries and coaching shake ups all played a role in the demise of the team this season and a soul searching and revaluation of the team will be the high priority in the off season, which will be starting much earlier than most anticipated back in August!

Jazz pull off upset over Pistons
as road trip continues

The road trip continues for the Detroit Pistons and since Dec. 15 they haven't seen the comfy confines of the LCA until they return home Jan. 1 vs the Miami Heat!  In between now and then they will be in Los Angeles vs the Clippers (Dec. 28) and Lakers (Dec. 30).

In their last 12 games the Detroit Pistons are 9-3 in that stretch!  They have a 8 game lead in the Central and at 24-7 have the top record in the Eastern Conference by 2 games over the NY Knicks!  Although the Knicks and Celtics aren't too far behind them the Pistons continue to show depth and great teamwork in their first 31 games!

Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren along with Tobias Harris, Ausar Thompson and Isaiah Stewart all have been contributing on this road trip!

Hurricanes end Red Wings 3-game
winning streak with 5-2 victory

Winner of 8 of last 11 games the Red Wings still stand on top of the Atlantic Division!     Last night they just couldn't hang with the Metropolitan leading Carolina Hurricanes losing the battle of 1st place teams 5-2!  As the new year approaches and their annual NYE game on Dec. 31 vs Winnipeg at 6:30pm the Red Wing's stand at 22-14-3 with 47pts!

Solid play continues for the veterans on the squad and a sprinkling in of some of our young talent has made for a great combination so far in the first 40 games of the 82 game season!  The question for the new year will be can this squad keep the momentum rolling along and keep getting better game in and game out?

Free Agency and Winter Meetings are
on tap for Tigers in New Year!

Scott Harris and AJ Hinch sat down last Monday morning to recap the 2025 season before heading off to warmer climates and a little relaxation.  In this press conference they answered questions and elaborated on the state of the Detroit Tiger's.

Scott Harris noted that AJ Hinch had agreed to an extension with the club and that he hoped AJ would stay in Detroit for as long as he desired.  No details were covered about the deal but both seemed happy and relieved about the outcome.

Another pressing discussion surrounding the club is the fate of the best pitcher in the MLB & CY Young Award winning pitcher Tarik Skubal and his longevity with the ball club.  Skubal becomes a Free Agent at the end of the 2026 season and could sign with any MLB Team he so desires.  So Harris, Hinch and the ownership of the Tiger's will be hard pressed to try to get something finalized prior to the 2026 season to avoid a constant banter from the media and others regarding the pitchers future!
